WE'RE HERE TO HELP

The opioid crisis continues to devastate communities across the U.S., including right here in Arizona. Synthetic opioids like Fentanyl are driving record overdose deaths, often due to their potency and prevalence in both street drugs and counterfeit pills.
Factors like stress, isolation, and reduced access to care—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic—have worsened the crisis.
If you or someone you love is struggling with opioid misuse,
seeking medically supervised detox and trauma-informed treatment is essential for lasting recovery.
Opioids are powerful narcotics that include both prescription medications and illicit drugs. They work by binding to receptors in the brain to block pain and trigger intense feelings of euphoria. While effective in short-term medical use, opioids carry a high risk for addiction—especially when misused or taken over time.
Common Opioids Include
‣ Fentanyl
‣ Heroin
‣ Oxycodone (OxyContin, Percocet)
‣ Hydrocodone (Vicodin)
‣ Morphine
‣ Codeine
‣ Suboxone
Many people begin with legally prescribed medications and later turn to heroin or fentanyl due to lower cost or accessibility. Illicit opioids are often mixed with other dangerous substances, increasing the risk of overdose, infection, or death.
Opioids trigger a flood of dopamine, the brain’s “feel-good” chemical, creating intense pleasure and reinforcing compulsive use. Over time, the brain becomes dependent, requiring higher doses just to feel normal. This leads to a cycle of tolerance, physical dependence, and high overdose risk.
Symptoms of Opioid Addiction May Include
‣ Increased tolerance or withdrawal
‣ Mood swings, anxiety, or depression
‣ Changes in behavior or hygiene
‣ Cravings or inability to stop use
‣ Legal or financial problems
Because opioid addiction involves both physical and psychological components, comprehensive treatment is essential.

Hope & Healing Addiction Treatment Centers in Mesa, AZ is proud to support individuals receiving methadone treatment across all levels of care, including Residential Treatment (RTC), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
As part of our commitment to evidence-based addiction treatment, we believe that individuals participating in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) deserve access to high-quality behavioral healthcare, recovery support, and safe treatment environments. By welcoming individuals receiving methadone treatment, we are helping remove barriers that have historically prevented many people from accessing the care they need.
Methadone is a well-established medication used in the treatment of opioid use disorder. When prescribed and monitored through a licensed Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), methadone can help reduce cravings, minimize withdrawal symptoms, support long-term recovery, and reduce the risk of opioid overdose.
While Hope & Healing does not dispense methadone onsite, we actively support and coordinate care for clients who are receiving methadone through approved community providers. We currently work with Community Medical Services (CMS) and other treatment partners to help ensure continuity of care throughout the recovery process.

For many years, individuals receiving methadone treatment faced significant challenges when attempting to access inpatient residential treatment, recovery housing, and other supportive services. Hope & Healing recognizes that recovery is not one-size-fits-all and that individuals utilizing Medication-Assisted Treatment should have access to the same opportunities for healing and long-term success as any other person seeking treatment.
Our Methadone-Supportive Treatment approach reflects a broader commitment to improving access to care and supporting evidence-based solutions to the opioid epidemic affecting Mesa, Phoenix, and surrounding communities throughout Arizona. Call us today to get started with care and begin the path to recovery.
