BHT/ Certified Peer Support Specialist must be a dynamic, well-spoken individual that is able to FACILITATE GROUPS that keep the clients interested, learning and keeps them accountable, be a good mediator, keep structure and be able to think on your feet.

BHT/ Certified Peer Support Specialist provides direct supervision for adults with behavioral health disorders to include but not limited to substance abuse addictions. Plays a crucial role in creating and maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for patients in a mental health or rehabilitation setting and monitoring the Mileu. Some of the responsibilities include assist with self-administration for medications, group facilitation, progress note writing, keeping rules and structure within the home.

Requirements

• Must hold an Arizona FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE CARD REQUIRED
• Must be over 21 years of age
• Required GED or High School Diploma
• Must have some experience in the behavioral health field

Licensed Therapist must be able to establish a positive, trusting rapport with clients.

Conduct therapy sessions with individuals and groups utilizing various therapeutic approaches. Assess and evaluate ongoing clients’ needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Must be part of the team and able to collaborate with multidisciplinary team on a regular basis. Meet with patients on case load weekly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress. Be able to follow all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality. Provide quality clinical documentation- Ensuring services provided are correctly documented and meet the criteria specified in the insurance policies. Contributes to company by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Intervening with emergency care techniques and protocols when patients are in crisis.

• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to build rapport quickly
• Detail oriented
• Must not have had a revocation or exclusion by AHCCCS
• Responsible for maintaining the required CEUs and ongoing education to maintain their license
• Must maintain licensure to practice clinical services through Arizona state governing board.
• Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy
• Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
